Brickmaster is ending!
Cover April 2009 |
UPDATE: (thanks to Flipz)
On an other note, everything related to Brickmaster on the LEGO club site has been deleted already.
I just wonder why it has been discontinued?
I found this out from the latest LEGO catalog--they're selling the 2010 Brickmaster package as an "All-in-one" set that will ship in December. The Catalog entry says:
Last chance! The best of LEGO® BRICKMASTER® 2010!
LEGO® BRICKMASTER® will be changing to a brand new offer in 2011. Here's your last chance to order the 2010 LEGO BRICKMASTER exclusive sets and magazine content in one awesome shipment! The Best of LEGO BRICKMASTER 2010 includes:
•6 LEGO® BRICKMASTER® sets: LEGO Atlantis Neptune Micro-Sub, LEGO Star Wars™ Imperial Shuttle, LEGO Creator 4x4 Vehicle, LEGO Brand Prince of Persia™ Dagger Trap, LEGO Creator Crocodile and LEGO Star Wars AT-AT Walker™.
•A Best of LEGO BRICKMASTER Magazine 2010 book including 200+ pages of building ideas, comics, behind-the-scenes interviews, and more exclusive content!
•Two shop.LEGO.com coupons
•A coupon good for one FREE admission to LEGOLAND California or LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago with paid adult admission.
Wonder what the "new offer" will be?

Re: Brickmaster is ending!
Hmm, probably they want to get some extra money out of it by doing something extra.
I'm going to update the post on the blog. I will give you some blog points as well.

Re: Brickmaster is ending!
Wow!! I subscribed starting with Issue 1 in November 2004. After a postal error, I didn't receive the July/August or September/October issues in 2009, and I didn't bother renewing after that. Man, it's ending??
I'm surprised, I wonder if they just didn't get much money from it.

Re: Brickmaster is ending!
I just heard about this. Very interresting. Although they did seem desparate to sell them at times...

I didn't see the point since it was US only. Though for US people it is sort of strange, just 1 more way for LEGO to make more money for themselves

6 exclusive sets (each in the $4-$5 range) PLUS the magazine (remember, that meant the BIONICLE comics for many years) PLUS $10 off Lego.com orders PLUS a FREE adult ticket to LEGOLAND? The ticket alone would cost more than the subscription...
Re: Brickmaster is ending!
Still though ONLY FOR US so not much good here. LEGO is European

Yea, but haven't you noticed that all those things lego markets? That doesn't mean they are worth five or six bucks. That is just what lego sells them for. They are probably only worth two bucks max.
That, and the ticket isn't any good if you live a ways away. You know?

Re: Brickmaster is ending!
Yeah, I have to agree there. For those in the New England states, that's kind of useless, considering gas/airfare and hotel, etc. I still get Brickmaster, although I can imagine sales went down after Bionicle ended. Pardon my Mando'a, but they were shab'la dikuts, ending Bionicle. . .Dakine Brah wrote:Flipz wrote:Dakine Brah wrote:lol I agree with Roddy. Actually, I think it was for Canada too.

Brickmaster ending!
I only have club magazines but them ending wow. I hope the club doesn't start becoming monthly payment. I doubt it but they might add something IDK.
I wanted brickmaster but its expenisve and less than what you pay for as DB said.

Re: Brickmaster is ending!
They're probably coming out with a system similar to Brickmaster.
Lego Club Mag. has always been free, so they wouldn't start charging. Keep in mind, this thing they've mentioned is new.
