Regarding KIC down: passed it on to the KIC team and got this response:

"Hi Linda
Have passed this on, but I think it's been fixed now. Let us know if you're still having problems.
Kind regards"

however when testing a few minutes ago was still down and resent response and got:

"Hi Linda
Will follow up on this again.
Thanks for the heads up"

LEGO Universe is a new Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) and we need your help to make sure the game delivers true LEGO quality. All you need to participate is an internet connection, a good PC and the commitment to keep your experience a secret!

We have sent you an e-mail, with an activation key, you need for your registration. We also ask you to create a new LEGO ID as login and accept a Declaration of Secrecy. can't answer that.

The method I have is through a different method than from KIC. If you are near Chicago, you can attend the POD 4 event and get it that way as has been published.

No prizes other than one Pod per Pod Landing Location will be awarded.

I guess this just means that they are not guaranteeing shirts or codes...

Today is Thursday, and LU Beta Testing day. Spykid is home from school and got a homework pass today from his teacher. It's raining out. Husband and son are occupied.

Yeah, I've heard of it and really want to do the alpha, but I can't 'cause there was no offer.

I was supposed to get one, but I didn't...

That must stink.

I emailed them. They are looking into it. I think it is because I wrote it kind of sloppy because the pen they gave me was broken.
Anyways, my brother got in from KIC...

I am an alpha tester, but I wasn't invited by the way anyone else here was. Can say how I was invited?

Did you read the confidentiality agreement you signed??

Well I was on a Bionicle message boards called BZPower, and had commented in a discussion about a game making contest. The mod of that discussion that gave me the invite because he said that people who like to make games would be the perfect people to test them.

(if this broke the confidentiality agreement, please let me know, cause I really want to make sure that I don't break that.)

Yeah, there were a lot of people on trying to win you know what. I wonder if it's just a coincidence but the email was sent by beta@yadayada instead of their other one!

How do you get to do beta testing? I know you have to be like a lego employee or their family, but what about beta?

For beta, all we know is that you could sign up at CES. Also, the site said that newsletter subscribers will know. Beta has not started yet though.

How could it be i would know because i am an alpha tester and if alpha testing was over then beta would be starting soon but I don't think alpha testing is over yet.

It's going to be over after this weekend. Something tells me they are going to add lots of stuff between then and when Beta starts. Maybe a few more levels or quests! Cross your fingers everyone!

I wasn't alpha, and I haven't heard of any "beta testers" that got the email. I'll post if I get one tomorrow though.

The LU Closed Beta begins tomorrow at 11 AM (Eastern Standard Time, 8 AM Pacific). Alpha Testers can launch the patcher to download the new updates to the game, but they cannot play (as the usernames have not been linked into the new LU authorization database).

I'm guessing that they're still choosing the users they will let into LU, and tomorrow at 11 AM EST they'll send out the emails, and everyone will log on at once and crash LU like they did during a special event during Alpha.

I'm depressed. You probably had to be a pioneer to qualify, right? The Minifig Mission won't let me get anymore minifgs.
