Someone called "GameVirus07" used Legodac's creation to enter the Ninja hideout challenge.

Yeah, he's not the only one, people find creations on google and upload it to the lego club, I think it is sad in my opinion.

And also plagiarism. I entered a really cool creation(my aircraft carrier) which got plagiarized a few days after I uploaded it. All you need to do is contact lego and tell them, and they'll take care of it.
Re: Copying
Yeah, plagiarism is illegal, you can get a big fine for it...

Yeah, he did... and one of his other creations is copied from a cuff link ad!!
Re: Copying
That is just sad. Taking credit for what someone else does is not fair. That person should be punished. LEGO.com is at a really low point right now.

That's true with governmental purposes...
Re: Copying
In my opinion, that's just pitiful and annoying.
I wonder if they know it's illegal?
Anyways, just report it, if you haven't already. They'll fix it.

Re: Copying
Legobricktom, a rank 2er on MLN, submitted a creation in the Build a Bit of My Lego Network challenge in the LU creation lab. Here is his creation.
This bee is from Pete Wentz and Ashley Simpson's wedding last year. He Comissioned artist Nathan Sawaya to create the giant bumblebee. How could LEGO miss that???

Yes, this happened to me on my Swiss Family Treehouse. I sent messages to LEGO and they removed them from the others. Also, I placed a comment in the others that said 'Hey that looks like mine that I created' or that looks familiar! : )
So just send them a letter, and maybe a second one if needed.
Letter 1 from LEGO:
Dear Lindavz
Thank you for your email and for your interest in the LEGO Club.
Your complaint was received and forwarded to our Web Team who will usually remove the duplicate image after researching the request. We would however like to emphasize that you should not think of the copying as a crime. A lot of times the children who do this are very young, and they just copy stuff because they think the creation is cool and don't realize that what they are doing is wrong. The child usually does it as compliment as in the saying "to imitate someone is to pay the person a genuine compliment - often an unintended compliment."
We apologize for any inconvenience this caused in your home.
Thank you again for contacting us. We wish your family many happy hours of creative building with LEGO brand toys in the years to come.
LEGO
Letter 2 from LEGO
Dear Lindavz
Thank you for your reply email. We are always delighted to hear from a loyal LEGO enthusiast.
I have contacted our web producers again and they informed me that they receive thousands of submissions every day and do their best to remove duplications. If they miss any, they are grateful to consumers such as yourself that inform us of these duplications and they will react immediately by removing them.
The web team has gone through the gallery and have not found any further duplicates. If you should find any other specific usernames or creations, please send them to us, so we can check them and remove them as soon as possible.
Again, we want to apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this has caused.
Thank you again for contacting us. We wish your family many happy hours of creative building with LEGO brand toys in the years to come.

Re: Copying
I agree with Lego. It doesn't make it right, but some people don't know better. Of course Lego said not to copy people on their submission rules...lindavz wrote:We would however like to emphasize that you should not think of the copying as a crime. Re: Copying
I've seen lots of kids upload stolen creations from sites like Flickr, MOCPages, and BrickBuildr.
There was once this one kid who uploaded a stolen creation and said that it was his own (His creation was eventually removed).
Sad, isn't it?

Re: Copying
One reason they're doing this is because they're too lazy to build something to get the prizes. Another is that they want undeserved popularity.
HOW could someone have the heart to do that!? Don't they know that they're dragging the good comments away from the people WHO DESERVE IT!?
At least LEGO is progressing when it comes to this subject, remember the Creation Lab Capers post?

First of all, before you do anything, you have to consider the situation and the details. Lego is a BIG company, and they've got a lot to deal with, do you think they can find every pirated image? Also, how do you know they're slacking? What if they've been really busy with other things? It doesn't excuse anything, but it makes you think. They've got a lot to do.

The person who posted first should get the right, but that does leave a lot of possibilities from people posting creations on other sites that people cop'y and p'ut onto LEGO
My Fort TROF was copied a few days ago. how do I report?

Low??? They are super low. Their mods don't hold up LEGO standards and they let people break govermental laws like this???? This is totally pathetic.

It's not against governmental laws unless the creations are trademarked and patented.

Depends on which county you live in, but not so in the US.

In regard to US:
What I mean is that you don't have to have a trademark or patent for your creation in order to 'protect it'. We are discussing copyright which is something different altogether (not trademark or patent) and does not require a Copyright notice for the original 'artist'.
In regard to other than US:
Different countries have different laws so it's not ok to say 'It's not against governmental laws' because it depends on which country you are in.
