A summary of ideas

The following is a list of all the ideas that you guys have posted, along with whose idea it is. I am mainly posting the ideas from 2011-2012, as the others are old and may already be in use, but a few are from a while ago.

BioK said we should have a "Featured Member of the Month", and "Featured Member of the Year" at the end of the MLNT year (which is September).

SupremeCommanderSturm proposed that we should have more academics related forums. http://mlnteam.forumotion.com/t13372-more-academics-related-forums His poll won with 6 votes saying yes and 1 vote undecided.

Crackers asked to have more RPGs. http://mlnteam.forumotion.com/t13789-implementation-of-new-rpg-s

Roddy15 wanted to expand the ‘Other Lego Stuff’ area. http://mlnteam.forumotion.com/t13654-expand-the-other-lego-stuff-area
His poll won with 9 votes all for the idea.

Tennisdude proposed that we start the newsletter again. http://mlnteam.forumotion.com/t13412-should-we-start-newsletters-again
His poll won with 12 votes saying yes, 1 saying no, and 4 were undecided
(This idea has been implemented)

Lindavz asked the users what to do with the LU area. Most were in favor of shrinking it, but not removing it completely. http://mlnteam.forumotion.com/t13925-lego-universe-area-what-to-do
BioK said we should change the MLN Team portal because it is the same as our homepage, just mixed up a little.

Roddy15 proposed that we have a MLN Team account on facebook and twitter.

There were many other small ideas not posted in a topic as well. Some were:
Opening the chatbox once or twice a week for users
Changing the rank colors
Raising the quote limit on posts
Change the color of the forum
Making more people VIPs

Why did this win votes, the fact we have an academics board already is appalling. I'd rather vote to abolish it and throw those topics into Off Topic.

Why not just combine the LU, MLN and Lego Stuff together into a "super" board and get rid of the shop subforums? The Lego Stuff seems fine as is for the most part and LU and MLN are dead/dying...

LVZ: I am ok with this - but sometimes what happens is that it becomes a popularity contest and upsets some who are active but don't get picked. I'd received a number of PM's about this - and what sometimes drives the 'I am outta here' topics actually. If there is a way for this to be fair that's great. We've tried many options and it seems that no matter how we do it - someone things it is unfair.

LVZ: My husband actually received a number of PM's asking for homework help. I think it's quite good for people to offer to help and people who need help has somewhere to go. If it's not needed we can choose to move it out or put it in a less viewable area.

LVZ: If we are moving forward with Brickteam - then we are still primarily a Lego forum - what also happens to have other topics. As for shop subforums, we are in the process of removing the ones that are not used, and I posted about that a week or so ago. There are still a few active shops and we will continue to support those that are active. Those that are not active will be deleted.

LVZ: We have not implemented this change yet as we should define the new hierarchy and where it will end up

LVZ:I removed many of the widgets and such and we need to revamp the portal. We should look at fm's site to any suggested techniques for additional widgets we may want or need

LVZ: Was this being used regularly recently?
Changing the rank colors
LVZ: Do others want this as well? if so, one needs to suggest more specifically which ones etc. However someone recently suggested changing the rank system to not be MLN based and I don't know how people feel about that.

Chatbox- it was always open before you came back.
Rank colors- not sure, I will add a link for that.
Quotes- most ideas were raising it to 5-7. This was in a old topic
VIPs- for major contributions or help to the forum.
