Bringing back the Newsletter?

I think we should bring back the newsletter, but we need enough members to write articles and someone to put it together and someone to send it out (probably Lindavz). The poll in another topic had a majority vote of yes, so could we get this started soon?

Based on the previous poll it appeared as though the answer was yes. (http://mlnteam.forumotion.com/t13412-should-we-start-newsletters-again)

I locked that poll to preserve the results. I know Sim was involved in it last time and may have good ideas about what worked and what didn't if we wanted to continue it.

Yeah, I think we should bring it back. I mean, if we send it out to everyone they may read it and decide to come back.... mmmmhhhhh...... I remember I was writing the Birthday article each month.

That's what I was thinking, because people would see it, and want to come back and check things out hopefully. I remember writing an article about forum happenings.

What I remember is the long waiting before each newsletter was sent out, I'm done with this.

In another forum I had my own newspaper, it was called TOWLER Magazine, The Online Weekly Lego Entertainment Report. It did well for a while and I was the only one doing the reporting. It was it's own topic yet others were welcome to share their findings as well.

I could maybe do the HTML for the newsletter. I'm not sure if I even have all the required skills, but I have an idea how to do it.

I didn't see the 'I'm done with that', previously - however I just meant that if it was too much work for just one person - perhaps with someone else to help maybe it would be easier.

On another forum I ran a paper, it was called the "TOWLER", The Online Weekly Lego Entertainment Report". I think I did a good job and I think you Brickers deserve this and so do I.

I would be willing to carry this forward, that is, the news we all want too see, about what is new in LEGO and what other Lego fans are building all over the world.

The TOWLER will provide you with info that will certainly turn your do-Hickey

We are thinking of doing a newsletter here like we did a while ago. Perhaps you could write an article for it once it gets started.

A newsletter is fine people should volunteer on what this is and how it should be organized.

As the newsletter creator I have decided to give everyone a chance to be a part of the newsletter. You would get your own section in the newsletter and it would be up to you to cover that topic. Of course, there will be rules that you will need to follow, and if you don't follow those rules, you can be removed from the newsletter team. The rules are as follows:

RULES

1/ When there is something new in your topic, I'll be awaiting an article from you. Note: Some of the articles require teamwork. If you are on a team with other users, I hope you'll be able to work together.
2/ An article can be in the newsletter if it has been entered in time. The (normal) launch date is always in the title.
3/ An article may contain images, but when you use an image you need to give the link to the picture too. That way we could decide if it's copyrighted or not.
4/ An article must be at least 10 sentences long and have maximum 2 images. There is no maximum on how long the article can be.
5/ When an article is ready you may post it in the current topic for the newsletter.
6/ Articles should be written in English. Even if your English isn't the best, try to use your best spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
7/ Everyone is welcome to join the team, just ask! If you are interested to help, please PM one of the leaders (Sim533 or Tennisdude).

Sounds good Sim, though I am still curious, first, when do you think the first issue would be due? Also, I thought perhaps you may have a link to past letters or similar publications so that we may gain a little insight as to what's expected of us. Thanks buddy.

At first glance I thought that idea was unnecessary, now perhaps I think it's a great idea, so that the first letter is a total surprise and more anticipated by the rest of the forum.
